The Glorious Pile

I would love to paint the secretary in my master bedroom but I love the contrast that it provides since it's covering an unwanted window (sounds nuts but without going into a lot of detail, I get crazy amounts of sun in my room from the other window and this one looks right out onto the deck).  I inherited the desk from my grandmother and found the hutch at a flea market on Capitol Hill. I took a wild guess that it would fit and shipped it back (glass doors and all!). It fits like a charm but I can't afford to have a professional restore it to it's original wood finish so painting might be the next best option. It's not often that I am sick enough to miss work but for the last couple of days I've been flat out with a winter cold. I could feel it happening and tried to arm myself but probably needed the time to rest. So I've been hold up in my bedroom with dog, laptop, phones and even tv (something I don't normally allow into the bedroom). I've been too tired to do anything other than rest and drink lots of tea. Sick Day Essentials: healing organic lemon ginger tea with honey... the remote and a book if you have the energy for either... plenty of tissues and a wastebasket near by... maybe an occasional glance at facebook to see what the rest of the world is doing... a giant igloo of a down comforter to snuggle under and stay warm while the rest of the house is at least 25 degrees cooler! Well, at least I didn't have the Man cold: So there you have it...an uneventful couple of days sequestered in my bedroom. I'm so glad I haven't looked in a mirror ...
