Last year I was too fat for boots that didn't have the expanding elastic panel and couldn't find any genuine leather boots that I could afford so I started a style board of my wish list. I found myself saying, "you know, I just like old stuff!"... old houses old cars old people and old dogs And it's true...in my younger days I enjoyed anything new... my mom and I would visit model homes of new construction to get design ideas. Sometimes we'd even go into an unfinished home to look at the freshly dry-walled spaces full of light and promise. But I live in an old house, in an old neighborhood, and nothing is plumb, nothing is new, nothing is perfect...sort of like me, it has a patina and a history.  I love the smell of a new car, but at 12 y.o. with 208,000 miles, I haven't experienced that in quite some time. Even with all of my recent car troubles, I just can't bear the idea of of it filling up a landfill!  My friends say I need a reliable car but I'm tempted to McGiver it together and keep on goin'!!! I've known him for years and have been on the waiting list for his landscaping advice. He's a family man, has a super sweet spirit and is about the nicest guy you'll ever meet. I recently saw some of his work and Scott's Antique Market and after catching up I dashed home to check out all the publicity about his work! Though my pictures don't do his work any real justice... Here's a compilation of my bathroom sink obsession and tile fascination as I prepare to fix up my hall bath on a budget: I shot these images at friends' houses, in stores, hotels, a home tour, a magazine, my own house and a flea market. Some are pricey, some are not, all are inspirational in my quest to finally finish this bathroom! Will I sink or swim?...remains to be seen.
