I went to a garden party...

to reminisce with my old friends A chance to share old memories  and play our songs again When I got to the garden party, they all knew my name No one recognized me, I didn't look the same CHORUS But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well. You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself... I stepped back in time and visited an older relative who is one of my Heroes. She's 88, retired, plays tennis, hikes, ice-skates and still drives. She owns the home that she's lived in since 1959 and still has a rotary phone. Her garden is absolutely delightful, full of grape arbors and plants she's had for decades! She invited me to a Forth of July garden party of a neighbor and friend, a young retired couple who have traveled all over the world (most recently India). Their front yard is a vegetable and flower garden (pictured above), based on  "The Edible Front Yard: The Mow-Less, Grow-More Plan for a Beautiful, Bountiful Garden"...

I was dreaming of a White Christmas and my Dreams came true!

citrus infused turkey cold toesies Murry Christmas, y'all! A fresh falling of snow in Atlanta, Georgia on Christmas day was more magical than I could have imagined! Sometime around 1:00 pm it started flurrying and eventually accumulated to 3 inches! The backdrop was just perfect to celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. The turkey was delicious and so was the red velvet cake! I am so thankful to my friend and her family that graciously invited me and made me feel so incredibly special! They are such sweet people! It was so memorable that it made me exclaim: It's a wonderful Life!

Too Hot For Words...

But I've got plenty to say, as always. With the weather in the high 90's, I've got sweet iced tea and porches on the brain... mostly because I need something to go with this yummy creation, which I call  "The BEST" (Turkey Bacon, Basil, Egg, Spinach, and Tomato) But because I'm incredibly busy this summer, I don't have time to fix up my screened-in side porch.  So I've been imagining myself basking in dappled sunlight and a cool breeze with my sweet Iced Tea and sandwich... Let me pour you some tea while we refresh ourselves on nice porches like these: click on the photos to make them larger my friends porch includes an incredible view of the savannah river Wrap around porches in Savannah I love this cottage in Palmetto Bluff, SC A dining porch? Looks so glamorous! A porch with a view! I can see how families would want to spend lots of time on the porch um, can you say 'dreamy'? I think I might need to move here Shabby...
