I'm No Fashion Buff

Okay, so I've never been a fashionista, fashion buff, clothes hag, whatever you wanna call it...
I've always gravitated toward classic separates and splurged on shoes that I wear into the ground! My philosophy is to layer, layer, layer and feel as comfortable as possible, but I usually end up looking like a DORK!
My own sister almost turned me in to the folks at TLC's 'What Not to Wear'!
But now that I've lost so much weight I have to give away the old and start anew... well, I'm also trying re-purpose clothes I haven't been able to wear for years.

Rarely do I go to the big department stores because the discount stores are my playing field.
I'm a regular Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Target scrounger.

So during a recent stop through TJ Maxx,
I strolled around and picked through a few things then instantly fell in love with this flirty little dress.
It seemed to hide all of my figure flaws and accentuate the positive. It's really comfy and I think it will still fit when I loose this last 20 lbs. and if it had pockets I might not ever take it off!
I got the shoes a week ago as a special treat to myself for accomplishing a long term goal
(they were on sale of course).

With a little personal grooming (hair, nails & makeup)
I'll be ready to hit the town or go to work or to church (the neckline isn't as plunging as it looks!)

In cooler weather I imagine a soft scarf, fun tights and ankle booties.

btw, the neckace is from Target!

they are super comfortable, I just can't talk on the phone and walk at the same time
(when I multi-task I become a bit discombobulated!)

Top it all off with a mani/pedi in my favorite colors
('Samoan Sand' for the hands and 'Red My Fortune Cookie' for the toesies! I take my own to the salon so that I can do touch ups on my own, if needed)

Love it; specially the shoes!

Congratulation on the weight loss. Any tips for us?

oh, I've tried for years! But that's a long post that I will share soon.
God is my source and my strength so I just had to commit to making some drastic changes.
Basically: I eat green veggies, fish and lean chicken...Nothing white: dairy, sugar or flour.
A fiber supplement and vitamins.
A gallon of water a day! (or close to it)
Elliptical machine and light weight training at least 3 times a week.

Focusing on a goal really helped (my college reunion), but I've slowed down since then and need to ramp it back up to loose this last 20!

Oh, and I have to mention Spark People...or sparkly people, as I call it. A free online journal of what you eat and the exercise you do. It helped me to stay honest and on track.
