Can someone please tell me what the key is to publishing a successful blog? Do I need to be a better photographer, a better decorator, figure out how to do 'giveaways', take a daily picture of my dog wearing a wig,  make a masterpiece out of popsicle sticks and paint, rant about the challenges of motherhood even though I'm not one????? What's the secret?  I have 10 followers and most blogs that I read have at least 500 (some have thousands)! I thought I did a pretty thorough job of chronicling my bathroom renovation and I'm incredibly pleased with how it turned out, yet I have ZERO comments on that post! I've even posted it on other sites and I think they've been deleted!!!! Is it the shiny brass, the white grout on the subway tile, the lack of wallpaper, the commonplace choice of color? WHAT?! Maybe I need to provide a service, like selling a product on an Etsy page?  Anybody need some flower pots made from recycled coffee cans? I'm starting to doubt...

Round Top ANTIQUE WEEK {Fall 10}: TONY ~ Rust in Peace Tony McCray is a Jack of ALL Trades AND a MASTER of Many Talents. He is an extraordinary landscaper and curb appeal specialist. I've known him for years and have been on the waiting list for his landscaping advice. He's a family man, has a super sweet spirit and is about the nicest guy you'll ever meet. I recently saw some of his work and Scott's Antique Market and after catching up I dashed home to check out all the publicity about his work! Though my pictures don't do his work any real justice... The New Is Here!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” -   2 Corinthians 5:17 I'm looking forward to what this new year will bring, good and bad. Last year, I finished a 5 year long project, sulked over some personal failures, worked my derriere off, started this blog, lost all shame, and started some new quests. From July to October I was on an adrenaline high that I'm still coming down from. I look at 2011 as a blank slate. The goals that were once crazy to even utter somehow seem attainable: 65 lb weight loss, financial recovery, finding a permanent job I love, health insurance, refining my creative outlets, re-connecting with friends, learning more, giving more, and as a friend said on her blog some months ago, ' making room for love ' (and what a tremendous love she had, in such a short amount of time). That friend went out in search of love, found love, married, and lost her love all within a year. I admire her coura...
